We have been supplying Alky Top Lube for a number of years, which is designed to do just this job. It contains a strong dye, the colour of Quink ink for those old enough to remember that, so it is obvious when fuel has been treated.
It helps to reduce the corrosive nature of methanol, lubricates the valves and valve stems and burns with a yellow tipped flame.
It is now mandatory in MSA racing to have an additive in the methanol for safety reasons – the Alky keeps you legal at the same time that it’s improving lubrication without losing power!
A 234ml bottle is enough to treat a 204lt barrel of methanol.
